My dear sweet Robert,
As the final moments of 2007 slipped away and 2008 came into the world, I put your Celebration of Life CD on and sat alone watching all those special moments in your life, with that beautiful music as a background. It comforted me to see the smile on your face,in picture after picture, especially when you were surrounded by one or more of your precious grandchildren. It still amazes me at how many pictures have both you and me in them. You were a wonder at setting the camera up on something, setting the timer, and then quickly running over to me just in time to put your arm around me and smile. I laughed when remembering how many times other tourists would be walking near us, see your remote camera set up, stop in their tracks, until the picture was taken. I will cherish those photos in a way you could never have imagined. I thank you for leaving behind so many photos of our life together. But, I wish you could know that it's being quite a challenge to locate your many photo folders,spread between the 3 computers!

And, I want you to know that in your honor and out of respect to you and your wishes for this year, we had our Christmas Chili party on New Year's Eve. Family members,yours and mine, came over to show their love and support for me. It was very nice, but your presence was missed by all, especially by me. Right after midnight, I called your phone and for a brief seconds, I got to hear your voice. What a sweet, sweet sound it was to my ears!
Rest easy my love, until that special day comes, when we can be together again.
I miss you deeply. You were not only my husband, but my best friend, too. I really missed your kiss and hug as the new year arrived.
