This blog is a chronicle of how I said goodbye as my husband was dying in 2007, and how I said goodbye, with journal writings, throughout the first year after his death. It is written from two perspectives, mine, dealing with grieving days here on earth and then, imagining his perspective of the same day from Heaven.

"If Heaven" by Andy Griggs, with Memories of Bobby
This is indeed Robert's song. A perfect way to end his Celebration of Life Service. He discovered the song in late July, 2007, while looking for music for my Dad's memorial service. He loved this song and wanted us to use it. I had quite a bit of convincing to help him understand that it just wasn't my Dad's kind of music.. He finally acquiesced. But I noticed over the next few weeks, he played the music video of "If Heaven" many, many times. I couldn't figure out why. After Bobby passed away, it became clear. I believe he left that video on his computer so that I would come across it, after he was gone. When I found it, I knew without a doubt that it was a final gift he had left behind for me.
All we needed to make it complete were adding his pictures put to the song. I will always be grateful to my great-nephew, Thomas for putting the video together for me. What a great job he did leaving us with sweet, precious memories.
